Here are a few early season flies I tied up and used for fishing last week. They're not actually intended to represent any particular emerging species but more to be used as general patterns when there is a hatch of small Olives, March Browns or even Caddis flies on the water.

And this is a size 14 March Brown / Caddis emerger representation.
The abdomen is kept slim by using 8/0 tying thread for the body with the rib being formed by colouring same thread with a permanent marker bfore winding back up to the thorax area.
