Airguns Banned By The End Of The Year In Scotland

On Friday, Justice secretary, Kenny MacAskill, the minister who released Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi ( who died yesterday almost 3 years after his release on the grounds of imminent death ), told the parents of a young couple who's son was killed by someone with an air rifle, that a law banning airguns will be on the statute books in Scotland by the end of the year.

The recent Scotland Act 2012 which was passed in the Westminster Parliament has given Holyrood the powers to bring in this law.

Are they right to do this, should every responsible airgun owner in Scotland be punished because of the actions of an idiotic minority or is this another lunatic step in the ban it all culture we seem to have adopted in Britain and more particularly Scotland ?

Will Scotland be the first country in the world to ban airguns ?
